DESCRIPTION
The Tenn-Tom Chapter received its FMCA charter on December 25, 2004. The chapter name was chosen to represent the Tennessee Tombigbee waterway which extends from the Tennessee River to the Gulf of Mexico at Mobile, AL. Travelers was added to the chapter name because the charter members not only wanted to rally and camp together but also to travel around the country to visit different areas. The membership of our Tenn-Tom Travelers Chapter is made up primarily of retirees from many diverse backgrounds and cultures such as: military, businessmen/women, judges, educators, ministers, and other professional/non-professional occupations. Although our chapter has no restrictive boundaries for membership eligibility, our current membership area extends from Central to North Mississippi. We schedule six rally/campouts per calendar year. Normally these rallies are scheduled every other month, however, our wagonmaster is authorized to adjust the rally schedule for special events and campground availability. Some of the more interesting and enjoyable rallies that we have traveled to in the past include: Maggie Valley, NC; Charleston, SC; LaFayette, LA; Mountain View, AR; and Talladega, AL. We also enjoy rallies to shorter destinations such as Corps of Engineer parks, State Parks, and private campgrounds/parks within our area. The annual membership dues are $25.00 per couple.
